RED VELVET CREPES – 7 DAYS OF RED VELVET

Crepes have always been the very best way to wake up to breakfastbreakfast, now add red velvet version and your valentine will be happy for such a delicious treat. I have really been thinking about love. What makes the heart beat so fast whenever you see that person that your mind, soul, heart and body has decided that they are the one. I have been in love before and it was the best experiece I had. I miss that. Looking forward to what this Valentines Day has to bring. Back to crêpes. Red velvet crêpes are easy and so fun to make, especially if you are making them with kids. You can make them even more romantic by cutting them into heart shapes.


INGREDIENTS

1 Cup All Purpose Flour
1 Tablespoon Vanilla Essence
2 Tablespoons Butter Melted
1 Tablespoon Red Food Color
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda
1/2 Cup Buttermilk
2 Tablespoon Sugar
1/8 Teaspoon Salt
3 Tablespoon Cocoa Powder

METHOD

Add flour, baking powder, baking soda, sugar, salt in jar. Add vanilla essence and red food color

Add melted butter and milk

Mix dry and wet ingredients to form smooth runny batter

Pour 1/4 cup red velvet batter in buttered non stick pan. Cook until bubbles form at the top

Carefully use a spatula to lift and flip the pancake

Cook second side until lightly browned

Place crepes on plate lined with paper towel as you finish all the batter

Generously sprinkle with icing sugar

You can top up with a sauce of your choice or fruits
